United Rentals has locked in a major expansion in Brisbane, securing a 15-year pre-commitment lease for a purpose-built flagship facility at Brisbane Airport’s Industrial Park. This milestone deal will consolidate the company’s Brisbane operations, enhancing service capabilities and long-term efficiency.
Occupying a 37,203 sqm site at 461 Main Myrtletown Road, the state-of-the-art facility will bring together United Rentals’ manufacturing, engineering, and rental operations under one roof. The new development will replace two existing sites in Banyo, streamlining logistics and supporting business growth. Key features include:
— 6,835 sqm warehouse/engineering workshop
— 600 sqm flagship office accommodating 40+ staff
— 14,000 sqm concrete-topped container yard with capacity for 1,000+ shipping containers
This project marks United Rentals’ largest greenfield development in Australia and the company’s first purpose-built, United Rentals-branded facility. Strategically positioned within Brisbane Airport’s industrial precinct, the site provides seamless connectivity via the Gateway and Pacific Motorways, strengthening supply chain efficiency and accessibility.
Blue Commercial’s Tim Spencer and Gary O’Shea introduced the tenant, working closely with Brisbane Airport Corporation to secure an outcome tailored to United Rentals’ long-term operational needs.
“Having longstanding relationship with Brisbane Airport Corporation, we are thrilled to have played a key role in delivering this milestone agreement for United Rentals,” said Tim Spencer, Industrial Agent at Blue Commercial. “This facility sets a new benchmark for industrial developments at the airport, reinforcing Brisbane’s position as a key hub for logistics and manufacturing.”
Brisbane Airport continues to attract major global operators, underpinned by its $2.3 billion property portfolio and more than $5 billion in planned investment across commercial and aviation infrastructure.
